Our popular competition season 'kicks off' on Sunday 12th February with all the same fun categories seen at our final events last year ... it will include individual patterns & sparring, syncronised pattterns & tag-team sparring as well as the all new baton battle & tag chasing sections!!! It is set to be another excellent day! Note that this year we have decided to add to the excitment of the Champions League by making a series of 4 events, point are being awarded at each event for 1st 1nd and 3rd place finishes which will in turn create league tables for relevant age & discipline sections! The competitors who top the tables at the end of 2012 will receive an extra special award! The dates are as follows - EVENT 1 - Sunday 12th February ...... CONGRATULATIONS to our 2011 black belt students It has been another excellent year for our senior members with so many great achievements - none more credible than black belt and the attainment of higher degree grades. This year took the number of actively training black belts within our VERVE schools to 108 but more to the point it re-inforced the high levels and standards of our students and tuition! Don't forget our black belt classes every Friday 7.00 till 8.00pm at the Verve HQ!

I.T.S. British Championships 2011 - the Biggest and best yet! The I.T.S. British Championships 2011 really was an outstanding event ... from the vigour & passion of the competitors to the commitment, pride & loyalty of the spectators, supporting families and friends! It really was an excellent day all round & thank you for your support! Following introductions from I.T.S. Director Mr J Swift and an opening by Kidderminster's town mayor, the day began with a sing, swing and dance performance from Stagecoach Kidderminster as well as a tricks and weapons demonstration from World Champion Joe Hallett and his Team Resurrection! Some of the skills just had to be seen to be believed! The competitive element of the day had two story lines, as well as the standard individual traditional patterns, continuous and points sparring categories there was a tri-nations 'International Team Challenge' between England, Scotland and Wales! Tri-nations 'International Team Challenge' Results 1st Place - ENGLAND 2nd Place - SCOTLAND 3rd Place - WALES A particular thank you to the team coach's Mr R Fisher who prepared the Scotland squad as well as Mr B Page & Mr S Harris who prepared the squad from Wales. The individual medals and successes were shared across all supporting clubs with all sections being keenly contested & demonstrating high level taekwondo as well as impeccable sportsman-like conduct - well done all! TEAM VERVE RAISING MONEY FOR GOOD CAUSES - British Heart Foundations Wyre Forest 5km RUN! Wow, what a fantastic day! The initial rain and mud could not dampen the 'Team Verve' spirit as 47 of our club members & parents turned out to support the British Heart Foundations 'Wyre Forest 5km Run'. Irrespective of age or level of fitness everyone completed the challenging course in turn developing unity, encouraging, achieving and supporting each other & contributing to an excellent cause. Monies raised are still being gathered but are estimated around the £500.00. Another great day & event, well done to all who supported, especially to Miss Liz Swift and Mr Carl Trevitt who's hard work, skills organising & cake baking were greatly appreciated!!!

I.T.S. MIDLANDS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2011 Well done to those who did the I.T.S. Midlands Open 2011, categories were keenly contested but were run in a safe, fun and friendly manner and a great day was had by all. In terms of the medals count our Verve guys took 19 gold’s, 14 silver and 11 bronze medals - well done team!!! Bring on the British Championships on Sunday 3rd April! Mr SWIFT - 'OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION AWARD 2010' - Wyre Forest District Council As well as having classes 6 day per week (plus 1 to 1's on the 7th!), Mr Swift & his team have been busy teaching martial arts within schools and colleges all year, demonstrating at summer fetes, assemblies & talking at various business conferences. He has also co-ordinated an international taekwondo competition and seminar which bought people to Kidderminster & the Wyre Forest from as far away as Wales, Scotland & the USA. Such are his exploits in 2010, Mr Swift has also been interviewed and featured in national martial arts magazine 'Martial Arts Illustrated' and has even managed to squeeze in his own training for the achievement of his Taekwondo 5th degree in Ireland under Master Frank Murphy! Well done Mr Swift, we are all proud! Mr Swift received his award from Kidderminster Mayor and Councillor Sharon Oswald on the 27th January 2011.

2011 NEW VERVE CLUB BADGE By request, the summer saw us design & survey for a new badge for our club and we can confirm the image on the right as the unanimous winner with nearly twice the votes of the next most popular! The badge is an optional extra for your dobok / tracksuits and should to be worn on the left breast (I.T.S. badges should be on the left sleeve) New club badges are available from ma’am at a cost of £3.00 per badge or 4 for £10.00!
2010 VERVE PRESENTATION EVENING & AWARDS A fantastic evening topped off a fantastic year for our Verve clubs and though the snow disrupted those who travelled in, a great time was had by all! A big thank you goes to Ma'am, Lisa, Kristie, Sandra and Liz who assisted with the food as well as all those who supported the event! I.T.S. BRITISH TAEKWONDO CHAMPIONSHIPS - 15th & 16th May 2010 Thank you to all those who supported our fantastic weekend of International martial arts. Firstly, our I.T.S. 'World of Martial Arts Seminar' on the Saturday with over 160 participants and then our championships on the Sunday where we sold over 1000 tickets - it was an extra special weekend!!! Verve students excelled at the British Championships taking 10 gold, 11 silver and 15 bronze, our Verve clubs now boast the following I.T.S. British Champions - Sophie Booton - Patterns Reece Hughes - Patterns & Sparring Brandon Louth - Sparring Alice Adams - Creative Forms Jenny Louth - Sparring Sue Rhodes - Sparring Liz Swift - Sparring Kieran Turrall - Sparring Carl Trevitt - Grand Champion In addition, several of our Verve students were selected for England international duties and picked up medals in their respective team categories. This included 1st place for the ladies sparring team - Vicky Adams, Sue Rhodes, Liz Swift & Elaine Grazier as well as 1st place for the boys sparring team - Scott Robb, Joseph Andrews & Joshua Moseley ... very well done all!!! Also, well done to Team U.S.A. who eventually won the INTERNATIONAL TEAM CHALLENGE 1st - U.S.A. 2nd - ENGLAND 3rd - SCOTLAND 4th - WALES Further details will be posted over the next couple of weeks so please send us your best event photos so that we can create a gallery!
